The Green Portland reviews
Didn't feel like a live concert
I arrived an hour early to the venue for the show. There were two very long lines to purchase merchandise, one inside and one outside. Surprisingly, there was no line to enter the venue. Opting for the cheapest seats at $30, I wasn't anticipating a great view. From the top section, the stage wasn't visible, so reliance was on the two large screens on each side of the stage. This could pose an issue for those with poor vision. However, the sound system was impressive, with loud and clear sounds that projected well.
The concert experience didn't quite feel live due to watching the screens for most of the time, but this was expected given the ticket price. Being a fan of the artist made the evening enjoyable regardless.
The performance began promptly at 8 pm with The Green taking the stage around 9 pm after the opening act. They performed a series of songs back to back, with a mix of new tracks and popular hits. The lack of audience engagement made the show feel less intimate and more like a rushed attempt to finish. A successful concert, in my opinion, involves connecting with the crowd and maintaining energy throughout. Unfortunately, The Green fell short in this aspect. Despite the lackluster attempts to hype up the audience, singing along to familiar songs and enjoying the visuals made the experience enjoyable.
Overall, while I might not attend another The Green concert, I had a good time thanks to my friend's company and the music.
